FlexNet - Recruitment Ph.D. and Research Assistant Vacancies
The FlexNet consortium has some research position still available. The research programme began in October 2007 but many of the work-stream have a staggered start and have kept some of the positions open. The consortium is a great opportunity to contribute to a large and ambitious research programme that touches many different issues. We have made a commitment that our researchers will get training across the research fields of electrical engineering, economics and social psychology to enable them to appreciate the work of the whole consortium wherever their own research topic happens to be focused. This is delivered through three week-long courses, and by attending work package and consortium-wide events. All our students will also broaden their experience with a month-long placement at one of our industrial partners or another university. Vacancies exist at most of the partner universities and in most of the work streams. If you would like to explore the possibilities then please email a brief CV (in the first instance) so that we can forward your details to the most appropriate member of staff. Please forward this to phds@flexnet.org.uk. We will need to know whether you are interested in a PhD studentship or post-doctoral research assistant position and whether there is a particular aspect of our work programme that interests you. For a Ph.D. studentships a first class honours or good upper-second class honours degree in a relevant subject is required. The normal EPSRC rules on eligibility for student support apply. For a research assistant position, a Ph.D. in a relevant area with evidence of high quality published work is required. In all cases good communications skills, an ability to work as part of a wide team and an aptitude for research is required. Below are links to profiles of past PhD students that have worked under the FutureNet research program:
