Dr. Nagaraju Pogaku "I joined the FutureNet consortium as a Ph.D. student just as the consortium started having previously completed an M.Tech degree at IIT Bombay. I worked on the Microgirds work-stream at Imperial College. My role was to study how inverter interfaced generation responds to disturbances and to formulate stability assessment methods along similar lines to those used for conventional generation. This involved theoretical development and testing in simulation before moving on to experimental testing on the prototype microgrid. I gained my Ph.D. in October 2006 and then spent 18 months working as a post-doctoral research associate at Imperial College working on active networks." "I have recently taken a new job as a Electrical Engineer at EON Engineering Technology Centre, UK. My work now covers many aspects of electrical power engineering including, electrical transmission and distribution network modelling, electrical power generation studies including renewables." "This consortium offers a great mix of proffessionals both from academia and industry. I enjoyed working in this consortium because I had the opportunity to work with industry people and understand the current issues of the industry."
